Directions To James River Elementary School (adjacent to James River Recreation Center)

JAMES RIVER ELEMENTARY  8901 POCAHONTAS TRAIL (i.e., Rt. 60), Williamsburg VA  23185  The field is located behind the school.  Go to the left side of the school, around the Recreation Center for the easiest access to the field.

Direction from Richmond

Take I64 East towards Williamsburg/Newport News/ Norfolk.  Take Exit 243A towards Busch Gardens.  Stay in right hand lane (otherwise you will end up at Busch Gardens) and exit right towards Rt. 60 East.  At the bottom of the exit ramp, merge onto Rt. 60E (Pocahontas Trail).  Continue approximately 3 miles down Rt. 60.  James River Elementary is located on the right (just past Carters Grove Plantation).  The lacrosse field is behind the school.

Direction from Norfolk

Take I64 West towards Newport News/ Williamsburg / Richmond.  Take Exit 243A towards Busch Gardens.  Stay in right hand lane (otherwise you will end up at Busch Gardens) and exit right towards Rt. 60 East.  At the bottom of the exit ramp, merge onto Rt. 60E (Pocahontas Trail).  Continue approximately 3 miles down Rt. 60.  James River Elementary is located on the right (just past Carters Grove Plantation).  The lacrosse field is behind the school. 

NOTE:  Although this route is not the shortest, it is the quickest (unless I64 is backed up - then definitely get off of I64 and make your way over to Rt. 60.)  You could get off earlier at either the Fort Eustis Exit or at the Lee Hall Exit and continue to Rt. 60 West.  You would take a right on to Rt. 60 and follow it until you reached James River Elementary -- on your left.  Most of Rt. 60 is 35 mph.
